LANDSCAPE

The DO Montsant's determined efforts, together with other institutions, to back a landscape charter are well-known. Here at the DO we see the landscape as part of our identity.

We also see it as a cultural asset, because it includes the rich heritage which forms the bedrock for us as an agricultural community which has managed to make its work compatible with preserving the features of this heritage. And that is how we want – and need – it to stay.

This without forgetting that the landscape is also an economic resource in a world which attaches increasing value to spaces which have not been destroyed by careless or over-aggressive human activity. Relatively unspoilt landscape adds value to quality products, as a symbol of a job well done, carefully and sustainably.
